After months of painstaking work, we recently released the first of our converted homes at Ebor Mills for sale. The three-bedroom townhouses within the former Warehouse offer a desirable blend of history, industrial architecture and modern design – let’s take a closer look…
The Warehouse was constructed in the second half of the 19th century, parallel to the original Spinning Mill, at the height of the expansion of Ebor Mills. At this time the mill complex was owned by the Merrall brothers and it would have been a hive of industry, producing one of the largest quantities of worsted, a fine wool yarn, in Yorkshire. (Discover more about Ebor Mills’ heritage here.)
Outside, the Warehouse’s original coursed stone has taken on a lovely patina over the years, and the building’s industrial past can clearly been seen in the large door openings, and the marks left by old hoists and other machinery. We’ve retained the tall window openings and their decorative stone surrounds, but have installed replacement conservation windows – these homes will benefit from an abundance of natural light.
Our careful conversion of the Warehouse makes the most of its striking industrial architecture whilst making sure the homes inside are made for modern life. We’ve created five unique three-bedroom, three-storey townhouses and kitted them out with our Premium specification, which features sleek interior design, customisable kitchen and bathrooms, and smart, energy-saving tech.
On the ground floor of each home is an open plan living space with a well-appointed kitchen, space for sitting and dining, and double doors opening onto the rear garden. Each home also has a ground floor WC accessible via the entrance hall, plus a useful utility cupboard. Up on the first floor are two double bedrooms and two bedrooms – one an en suite shower room and the other a family bathroom with bath – while the second floor is home to the spacious master suite. Besides an en suite bathroom with bath, the master bedrooms all have double doors leading to the patio terrace. Luckily, this private, south-facing sun trap is also accessible via the main landing on the second floor, so all residents can enjoy it! As well as benefitting from two outdoor spaces – both the roof terrace and rear garden – the Warehouse plots also boast two parking spaces each, and access to a shared EV charging point.
Of the five Warehouse plots, two are already reserved, so if you can see your future in a home with heritage at Ebor Mills, contact us to find out more and book a tour of the site and our stunning Show Home. Contact us on [email protected] or 01535 288000.
