  • A New Chapter at Croft Mill: Hannah and Oliver’s Customer Story

We’re delighted to share the story of one of our newest families at Croft Mill, who recently moved into their beautiful new home in Foulridge. With young children and a busy lifestyle, they wanted a home that offered convenience, quality, and a welcoming community—and Croft Mill provided just that.

What initially attracted you to Croft Mill as a development?

“We like that it isn’t a large development, it feels intimate and safe. We have young children, so we’re glad it isn’t on the main road for when they’re playing out. We didn’t live in a new build before, and with a baby, we had no time to renovate a second-hand home. We Part Exchanged our previous home with Skipton Properties, so we had less to worry about as we didn’t have to sell our previous home the traditional way.”

How important was the location of Croft Mill in your decision to buy here?

“We lived close to the area, so we know it well, and we loved the village feel of Foulridge.”

Were there any particular features of the home that stood out to you straight away?

“We loved the natural stone, the curb appeal, and the general quality of the build.”

What do you love most about living at Croft Mill?

“We feel as though the open-plan layout works better for us as a family with young children. We also like to host and entertain, so it’s nice to be all together as a family rather than missing out on things when cooking in the kitchen and keeping an eye on the children. Our home is very warm and insulated, with no drafts—unlike our previous home. We would have never installed a security system in a second-hand home because of the cost, but it gives us peace of mind.”

How have you found the community and neighbourhood?

“The community is good, but with it being winter, we haven’t met some of our neighbours yet, but we’re sure when the sun comes out, we will! We have recommended our friends to come and live at Croft Mill.”

Would you choose Skipton Properties again if you were to move, and why?

“Yes, definitely! The buying process was seamless. The Sales Advisor was great, and the recommended mortgage advisor and solicitors all communicated very well and made the process rather stress-free.”

Is there anything Skipton Properties could have done to improve your overall experience?

“Not really, all snags were corrected—some of which we didn’t even notice ourselves.”

  • The Most Affordable Our Homes Have Ever Been – But Not Forever!

In today’s mortgage climate, where rates are returning to more typical levels after the historic lows of recent years, Skipton Properties is making homeownership more accessible than ever by pricing our homes with the current mortgage environment in mind.

We understand that affordability is key, which is why we’ve priced our homes lower than ever to help buyers get on or move up the property ladder despite higher borrowing costs. But this window of opportunity won’t last forever.

Is now therefore the right time to buy?

    • Our homes are currently priced to reflect the market. As mortgage rates drop in the future – as many financial experts predict – property values are expected to rise again in response to improving economic conditions.
    • Waiting could cost you more. If you delay buying now in the hope of lower rates, you could end up paying a higher price for the same home.
    • Your home is more than an investment; it’s your sanctuary. Moving into the right home today means creating a space that enhances your lifestyle, well-being, and future security.

At Skipton Properties, we remain committed to helping buyers get the best value today so they can benefit tomorrow. Now is the time to secure a home at today’s competitive prices before the market shifts.

Explore our latest developments and make your move while Skipton Properties homes are more affordable than ever before.

  • 2025 Property Market Forecast: Insights for Home-Movers

As we prepare for 2025, the property market outlook shows positive momentum despite recent dips in asking prices. November saw an average price of £366,592, a 1.4% decrease from October, as sellers adjusted to attract buyers before Christmas. However, buyer demand rose by 23% following the latest Base Rate cut to 4.75%, and sales agreements increased by 26%, signalling renewed confidence.

Rightmove predicts a 4% rise in house prices over the next year, bolstered by improved affordability as mortgage rates gradually decline. This is encouraging news for buyers who delayed their plans in 2024.

Tim Bannister, a market expert, highlights that continued reductions in mortgage rates could drive a robust property market in 2025, particularly in traditionally active periods. For buyers, the combination of more affordable borrowing options and increased housing market activity presents a promising opportunity.

    Key Points for Buyers

    • Current Trends: November’s average house price is £366,592, with sellers adjusting prices to meet demand.
    • Increased Activity: Buyer demand is up 23%, and sales agreements have risen 26% compared to last year.
    • Predictions for 2025: House prices are forecast to rise by 4%, driven by lower mortgage rates and strong market activity.
    • Opportunities for Buyers: Gradual reductions in mortgage rates enhance affordability, offering a favourable time to move.
