  • Over 70% sold in Haworth

The view from the adjoining countryside

Our sought-after collection of new build homes at The Bridge in Haworth is now 70 per cent sold, meaning buyers who want to live in the new development need to move quickly to secure one of the remaining homes.

The development of sympathetically-designed, stone-built homes has been created to provide luxurious and modern accommodation against the juxtaposition of historic Haworth.

Caroline Verity, director of sales and marketing, explained: “Haworth is ideal for our customers because it provides the perfect antidote to modern life with its cobbled lanes and romantic Bronte history – yet motorways, trains and airports are all so easy and quick to access from here. The Bridge has huge appeal to locals wanting a more contemporary home, as well as people from London, Manchester and Leeds who want more of the good life, but with the reassurance they can easily commute back to city life when they need to.

The Highfell – a four bedroom family home

“Our mission is to create beautiful homes that work with the natural rhythm of their surroundings, fusing traditional values and craftsmanship with modern-day living. We’ve worked hard to make sure The Bridge blends seamlessly into the iconic backdrop of Haworth, and we’re looking forward to launching the last properties to market this summer.”

The Bridge comprises 75 high quality homes, all boasting private parking. Just nine three-bedroom and nine four-bedroom properties are still available, with prices starting at £279,950.

One home still available to buy at the development is The Fewston, a luxurious three-bedroom property that boasts an integrated garage and large outdoor terrace that’s the perfect spot for entertaining. Alongside the garage on the ground floor is a spacious kitchen diner complete with large kitchen island and a guest cloakroom. On level two are the house bathroom and three bedrooms, including the master bedroom that has its own en-suite. On the final level of the house is a large living space and huge south-west facing terrace that comes complete with its own kitchenette and fridge, making it the perfect place from which to entertain guests on warm summer’s evenings.

The bespoke development has been regenerated in a way that plays to the character and appearance of the local area, with natural landscaping and the use of stone and slate roofs to ensure the new homes complement the neighbourhood setting.

We will also be creating a large landscaped space to the rear of the development which will contain a range of native shrubs and trees as well as a wetland. The developer will also build a stone wildlife tower in the space to encourage local wildlife to thrive.

The Bridge’s location in the idyllic town of Haworth benefits from easy access to Manchester, Preston, Leeds and Bradford, a vibrant town centre filled with independents, stunning countryside backdrops and excellent schools provision.

Interested in a new home at The Bridge? Why not join us at the launch of our newest Show Home in the Fewston on Saturday 27th July…..or visit us in advance of the Show Home and choose your home before everyone else…

  • Planning permission granted in Settle

We have been granted permission to build eight new family homes on  Kings Mill Lane, Settle.

Having won an appeal to deliver an important urban regeneration scheme in the North Yorkshire town, which will include new flood defences to the River Ribble, directly reducing flood risk for existing homes in the area.  The land has been acquired from North Yorkshire County Council.

Sarah Barraclough, Managing Director, explained: “Kings Mill has an amazing location next to the River Ribble, and we immediately spotted the potential to transform this barren site into a beautiful community for families. What’s currently an eyesore will become a selection of expertly designed homes that feel like they’ve been there forever. Our skill is in making sure our homes fit seamlessly with the local area, fusing traditional and contemporary elements to maximum effect.”

The development will comprise eight high quality homes, ideal for families looking for countryside tranquillity with a contemporary twist. They will incorporate our signature style of natural stone and slate and dry stone walls, complemented by modern features such as large-scale aluminium windows and bi-fold doors to let as much light in as possible.  We’ve also incorporated large-sized bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens into its floor layouts, as well as traditional stoves.

The Kings Mill Residences development will sit alongside The Old Kings Mill development. It is currently in the build planning phase, with construction work due to start later this year.

The development is the latest in a series of others under our direction this year, including The School House in Barnoldswick, The Exchange in Shipley, The Rise in Harden, The Bridge in Haworth and Victoria Fold in Sabden.

  • Our trees are growing their leaves

Some of you may have read…

…that we have partnered with the Yorkshire Millennium Trust to plant 250 trees this year. Our first trees were planted by our Directors, Sarah and Caroline, near Bolton Abbey in North Yorkshire and are growing their first leaves.

As a traditional family business, with strong heritage values, it is our pleasure to support the Trust’s vital work. Together we can plant hundreds of trees, inspire more people with the natural world and encourage them to get out into the countryside to improve wellbeing and learn new skills.

To discover local woodlands we are helping to create, and to find out more about our tree planting with YDMT you can visit their website here.

  • Charity starts at home….

A few years ago we launched a charitable giving fund where we gave away £1,000 each month to local causes that make a difference in the community. We’re delighted to say we’re doing it again from July and hope to help numerous worthy causes in areas where we build new homes.

Over the years we have donated land for parking during the Haworth 1940s event. Proceeds were donated to SSAFA

Caring for the community is one of our core values.  We’ve helped local sports clubs, community support groups, charities supporting diseases such as cancer research, charities helping wounded soldiers, hospices, hospitals and village halls – and we want to help even more this year.

We’d like to hear from local charities in the towns and villages of each of our current and future developments launching this year. Our only criteria is that the charity benefits local people, because we’re fully committed to enhancing the communities in which we operate. That means we won’t be able to accept fundraising requests for any schemes where our support will be directed abroad.

Numerous local charities benefitted from our last community fund, including Sutton Brass Band featured here

    How do you apply?

Visit our charity page to complete your application. We want to know a little about your charity and who the donation will benefit. Our first charity will be awarded £1,000 in July and each month thereafter for the next 12 months.

As you might realise we expect to receive a lot of applications so please be mindful of this and bear with us. We won’t be able to reply straight away but don’t worry you’ll receive a notification to let you know that we have received your application.

Applications will be reviewed on a monthly basis in advance of the next month’s charitable donation.

Did you know we’ve also recently partnered with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust to create 100 hectares of beautiful new woodland across the Yorkshire Dales over the next two years? You can find out more about that partnership and view some of our other beneficiaries on our charity page.

  • Reserve this week for £2,000

Reserve our final four bedroom Highfell in Haworth, West Yorkshire this week and you’ll not only benefit from a landscaped garden, luxury flooring and specification, we’ll also contribute £2,000 towards your stamp duty.

    Why the Highfell?

A large four bedroom house, the Highfell, is situated on the edge of our development in Haworth. We’ve planned the large garage with a electric double garage door so that you can manoeuvre in out and of your garage with ease. There’s also a workshop at the back which you could also turn into storage.

Walk into the Highfell and the first thing you’ll notice is the generous hallway. Off the hallway, you’ll find a large laundry on this floor, with room for both a washing machine and dryer, plus plenty of storage and ground floor cloakroom.

Climb the stairs to the living floor to find a large open plan kitchen and dining room with double doors onto the rear garden. We’ve planned the kitchen with an island so you can look out to the landscaped garden as you prepare your food.  There’s also a study on this floor which can also be used as a play room/snug. Last but not least there is also a separate living room overlooking a full width balcony with glass balustrade.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a master bedroom with en-suite.

  • Flooring on our final two apartments

We have just two apartments on the ground floor of Cambridge House at The Exchange, Shipley in West Yorkshire that we can put the finishing touches to in time for completions in June. Reserve this weekend for luxury flooring in your apartment.

    Why The Exchange?

Our apartments are situated in a quiet enclave of Shiple that overlooks Route 66 of the National Cycle Network connecting homeowners to Leeds via bike. As part of our development activity we have improved this section of cycle route. The development is also approximately a five  minute walk from Shipley train station making them ideal for commuters into Leeds or Bradford.

Kitchens in the apartments all benefit from modern, fitted units complete with soft close doors, white metro brick tiling and a range of integrated appliances, including a fridge/freezer, oven, hob and extractor and dishwasher. A space will be left for a washing machine.

Living spaces and bedrooms are all large, light and airy, with bathrooms coming complete with white half tiling to all walls and modern bathroom furniture, including a bath with shower. In fact, the space in the apartments is the chief reason why many of our homeowners decided to buy a new home at The Exchange.

Each apartment also has its own secure entry system and private off road parking space. There are separate spaces for visitors too.

It could be cheaper to buy

If you are able to take advantage of the government backed scheme Help to Buy your monthly mortgage payments on one of our one bedroom apartments could be as little as £220/month. Thats half of what it could cost you if you are renting a similar apartment in the area. There is a deposit to find of approximately £4,375 however you could save over £2000 a year in rent by choosing to buy.
