  • Wonderful views and a secluded terrace in Haworth

    The Bridgehouse, a four bedroom home with orangery

    The Bridgehouse homes at The Bridge in Haworth, West Yorkshire are currently in build. We hope to have them near completion in June/July. Yesterday, we took a panoramic photograph from the top of Plot 43 to show you the sort of views you’d be able to enjoy from your private terrace.

    Each of our homes, Plot 43-46 overlook the landscaped parkland we are creating which we hope will effortlessly blend with the beautiful landscape beyond our development.

    Is the Bridgehouse home for you?

    Each of our Bridgehouse homes have a large entertaining space and have been designed in order to make the most of their south facing position. An orangery has been added to create a space for year round use. For those summer months we’ve added a private terrace, which is accessed from the top floor master en-suite and hallway. It will be a large terrace that can accommodate sun loungers and/or a table and chairs for alfresco dining.

    Several French doors maximise light into the island kitchen (featuring a quartz worktop of your choice) and dining area, which can accommodate dining for eight people. An informal lounge space can be created in the orangery or alternatively it would be the perfect space for a home office. Also on this floor is a laundry which will accommodate your washing machine, dryer and storage.

    The first floor features a large formal living room with a glass balcony, two double bedrooms, single bedroom and house bathroom. The second floor features a large master suite suitable for a large kingsize bed, dressing area, walk in wardrobe (with mirrored sliding wardrobes) and large en-suite featuring a free standing bath and shower.

    There are just four of this particular style of Bridgehouse home that benefit from their south facing position on the southern edge of the development. Prices start from £399,950 (mid terrace) and £404,950 (end terrace).

  • Sarah takes the helm in newly appointed MD role

    We’re extremely delighted to announce that Sarah Barraclough has been promoted to the position of managing director, while Brian Verity takes on advisory duties as chairman.

    It’s our company’s first female MD in our 33-year history. Brian Verity has now stepped aside to allow his eldest daughter to advance our business.

    Sarah has worked for the company since 2003, where she joined as sales manager before being promoted to sales director in 2007. Most recently, she has been working as operations director within our senior management team, taking on a broader leadership role during a period of significant growth and development for Skipton Properties, which has earned her the top title of MD in 2019.

    Sarah said: “I am extremely proud to become the new managing director of my family’s business at this very exciting time in its history. As Skipton Properties gears up for continued growth and success, with more work than we’ve ever had in the pipeline, my focus will always be on building quality homes our customers are excited to move into, working with my fellow directors to move us forwards.

    I’ve worked from the bottom up in this business, so I understand the whole build process and have intricate knowledge and insight into how all the departments within the company work. That’s fundamentally why I’m able to take our business forward into a new era, alongside an incredibly talented and hardworking team.

    “We will continue to invest wisely in places where we believe we can make a real difference, and I’m looking forward to expanding the areas in which we build developments.”

    In his new role as chairman, Brian will guide on the purchase of new land and oversee company financials. Youngest daughter Caroline also works within our senior management team, as sales, marketing and design director.

     

  • Looking after the Dales

    We’re delighted to announce our partnership with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT), a small charity doing big things in Yorkshire.

    The partnership is part of Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust’s Together for Trees campaign, which will see it create 100 hectares of beautiful new woodland across the Yorkshire Dales over the next two years.

    For those of you that don’t know who they are, the YDMT are a charity that work with the local community and land owners to restore woodlands in and around the Yorkshire Dales. Since they started out in 1996 they have planted over 1.4 million trees. Their reach extends much more than this however and also includes bee conservation, the restoration of species-rich meadows, and further community involvement such as apprenticeships in environmental management.

    We are a company that prides itself on our ability to bring brownfield land back to life. When we do build on green field land, we mitigate the impact of new homes with a specialist planting scheme, as well as working with expert arboculturalists to ensure our work doesn’t impact the existing trees. After meeting with the YDMT we’ve agreed to go one step further and plant trees in and around Yorkshire to offset our ecological footprint.

    We’re committed to planting 250 trees with the YDMT over the next year and look forward to supporting the charity for years to come. Our first 25 were planted by our family team: our Managing Director, Sarah Barraclough and Sales, Marketing and Design Director, Caroline Verity in Howgill Side Woodland located near Bolton Abbey. Later this year, during the next tree planting season (this runs from November to March), we’ll be enlisting the help of some of our employees to plant further trees in and around the county.

    Sarah Barraclough, Managing Director of Skipton Properties, said: “We’re delighted to have planted the first 25 of 250 trees that we’ll be planting in 2019.

    “As well as being a positive environmental addition, many of the new woodlands that we’re helping to create will also have public access, so we’ll be creating beautiful new spaces that everyone, including our customers, can enjoy.

    “The initiative will also allow our staff to take part in a practical and rewarding conservation project that supports their local area across the year, which they’re all really excited about.”

    Today we have launched our newest three bedroom home at The Bridge in Haworth, West Yorkshire.

    Featuring a grand entertaining space, en-suite bedroom, large island kitchen, balcony and terrace and much more the Fewston has been designed with modern living in mind. We’ve created a home that puts social interaction at the heart of the design.
