    New year new home?

    A new year is a new start. What better time to move into a new home?

    Our newest Show Home at Kearns Village in the hamlet of Cowpe, in Rossendale, not far from Manchester, will be opening on Saturday 9th February 2019.

    About Kearns Village

    Kearns Village is located on the site of the old mill run occupied by Kearns of Waterfoot. We have recreated an architectural landscape that pays homage to this industrial past with natural stone elevations that mimic what was there before complemented by thin profile wood-aluminium windows by Rationel.

    Kearns Village won in 2018 for ‘Best Small New Housing Development’ at the North West LABC Awards.

    What homes are available?

    Our homes will be available at varying times next year. Interested in Plots 6 or 7, they could be ready for a family in March next year. Prefer a detached home? Plots 8 & 9 will be ready a little later. Please speak to your advisor if you’d like specific dates an they will be dependent on the legal process and the weather!

  • Bolton Road, Silsden: Public Consultation

    Some of you may already know that we have acquired the land at Bolton Road, Silsden after seeing our signboard.

    We are in the process of developing a detailed planning application and would like to ask local residents for their views regarding the development of this site for 62 dwellings.

    The site has an existing Outline Planning Permission with Access details approved.  The consultation relates to the finer details of the layout, scale, appearance and landscaping of the proposed scheme. We’d like your feedback on these details so we can make the best of the scheme for its future homeowners and neighbours.

    A public consultation ‘drop-in’ event is being held and local residents’ are invited to attend.  The drop-in event will be an opportunity to find out about these details and members of the team will be on hand to answer questions.  The event is taking place at: Silsden Town Hall, Kirkgate, Silsden BD20 0AJ on Wednesday 14th November between 6pm and 9pm.

    The weeks are slowly ticking by and we’re reaching the final date for moving our customers in for Christmas….

  • Help to Buy extended to 2023

    The HM Government’s 2018 budget, announced yesterday, included an extension of the Help to Buy scheme until 2023…

    This is welcome news. On one of our recent developments, The Bridge in Haworth, we have had approximately 40% of our customers benefit from Help to Buy, with over half of those being first time buyers. At The Exchange in Shipley, we have had approximately 70% benefit from the scheme, with only one of the buyers having owned a home previously.

    The scheme has enabled our buyers to purchase a new home with only a 5% deposit and as such get them onto the property ladder much sooner than they will have been able to without the Help to Buy scheme.

    The scheme has been extended for first time buyers only so if you do own a home (which you intend to sell) and want to benefit from the existing rules you have until 2021 in order to do so.

    In addition to the first time buyer requirement, from 2021 there will be lower caps on the value of the property being purchased. For Yorkshire and Humber the maximum value of the property must not exceed £228,100. In the North West it is £224,400. All the more reason to move now if you intend to use the Help to Buy scheme to buy a new home.

  • A house to a home: Glusburn

    Our newest homeowners moved in recently into their brand new home at The Green in Glusburn, North Yorkshire…

    The first purchasers on the Green Lane side of the development bought a large four bedroom ‘Oxley’ home, which sits in an elevated position on the development enjoying panoramic views of Cowling Pinnacle and beyond. They are delighted with their new natural stone home.

    We always like to welcome our first homeowners to the development with a smile, a hamper (because the fridge is empty!) and some beautiful flowers (no furniture no problem, flowers make any house homey).

    This week they will be joined by their newest neighbours into one of our Sharp homes, another large four bedroom home on the development.
