We’re Carbon Neutral!
We’re proud to announce we’re carbon neutral! Being environmentally friendly has always been important to us. Which is why we set up our own quarry over 15 years ago to recycle and re-use material we find on site. Our founder was quite particular about the waste we create and has for many years ensured we recycle everything we are able to. He’s no longer with us, but his daughters, Sarah and Caroline are as passionate about the topic as he was.
Earlier this year, we partnered with Comply Direct to help us measure our emissions. With their help we’ve been able to calculate our environmental footprint, further analyse our emissions and reduce or transfer to renewables where possible. Where we haven’t been able to reduce, we’ve invested in projects that offset that carbon footprint. We’ve invested in tree planting here in the UK and further afield invested in protecting the Amazon.
In addition to this, we’re pleased to announce we’ve again partnered with the Yorkshire Millennium Trust to add additional landscaping to The Alders in Skipton. This project is very much in its infancy and will require planning approval, but we hope to announce further details soon.
Reduce: Save up to 65% on your energy bills
Did you know that new-build homes can save you up to £2,600 in energy bills every year? That’s according to the ‘Home Builder Federation.’
Our new homes have always been cheaper to run when compared to a period property. In fact, they could be up to 65% cheaper*.
Our homes are well insulated, they use less water and what’s more we’ve recently upgraded our specification across all our homes to include user-friendly technology that puts you in full control of your heating. Most of our homes have, for many years, also come with an electric car charging point. On all new sites from 2023, in line with regulations, they’ll be included with every home.
In addition to this, we’re readying ourselves for the recent changes in regulation and have formed a working group to assess our specification to ensure it goes above and beyond. All our new developments for 2023 will be even more energy efficient, saving our homeowners more on their bills.
