Planning permission granted in Settle

We have been granted permission to build eight new family homes on  Kings Mill Lane, Settle.

Having won an appeal to deliver an important urban regeneration scheme in the North Yorkshire town, which will include new flood defences to the River Ribble, directly reducing flood risk for existing homes in the area.  The land has been acquired from North Yorkshire County Council.

Sarah Barraclough, Managing Director, explained: “Kings Mill has an amazing location next to the River Ribble, and we immediately spotted the potential to transform this barren site into a beautiful community for families. What’s currently an eyesore will become a selection of expertly designed homes that feel like they’ve been there forever. Our skill is in making sure our homes fit seamlessly with the local area, fusing traditional and contemporary elements to maximum effect.”

The development will comprise eight high quality homes, ideal for families looking for countryside tranquillity with a contemporary twist. They will incorporate our signature style of natural stone and slate and dry stone walls, complemented by modern features such as large-scale aluminium windows and bi-fold doors to let as much light in as possible.  We’ve also incorporated large-sized bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens into its floor layouts, as well as traditional stoves.

The Kings Mill Residences development will sit alongside The Old Kings Mill development. It is currently in the build planning phase, with construction work due to start later this year.

The development is the latest in a series of others under our direction this year, including The School House in Barnoldswick, The Exchange in Shipley, The Rise in Harden, The Bridge in Haworth and Victoria Fold in Sabden.
