And raising £30,785 and counting….
(You can still donate here!)
For the past few months we’ve been raising money for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity. In order to raise the money our team decided to walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
We completed the walk yesterday in 9hrs 15 minutes. Our team were up bright and early and had completed the first peak before most of the country was out of bed! We’re sure many of you have conquered the peaks, it can be tough at times, but what pushed our team right to the end was the knowledge that we’d raised over £30,000 for the hospital.
For those of you that don’t know, we chose to support the hospital after an employee’s niece was treated at the hospital for leukaemia. Unfortunately she didn’t recover and she lost her life at the age of 11.
Sarah and Caroline, who run Skipton Properties alongside their father, Brian, were given a tour of the hospital. They were blown away and decided to commit to raising £30,000 for the hospital’s charity to mark the company’s 30th birthday this year.
We asked suppliers, friends and family to help us reach the target, which we reached just before we embarked on the walk. We’re absolutely delighted we were able to raise such a large amount of money and want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us. We couldn’t have done it without all the support we have received.
At Skipton Properties it’s very important to us to be able to give back to the community. We’ve already given away £7,000 to local charities in around Skipton, North Yorkshire, through our Community Grants scheme. We hope to be able to continue this community support for years to come.
We wish everyone a very happy Sunday and thank everyone again for all the support.
If you would like to donate you can do so here.
