St Stephen’s school in Skipton receives our first grant
We received many applications from wonderful causes across the Skipton area for our Community Grants scheme – it was very hard to choose…. but we had to make a decision.
For the month of October we chose to support St Stephens School because we strongly believe in furthering education in the area. Our children after all are our future. St Stephens is a school that needs local donations in order to survive and we wanted to help. The grant will be used to buy books to aid in the teaching of phonics. Phonics is an important teaching method; it helps children recognise the sounds of letters in order for them to understand how words are spelled.
Future grants
Don’t worry, if you have applied, your application will roll into the next month when we’ll be considering all applications again. There is a £1,000 up for grabs every month for the next 11 months!
